Happy 2015 and week #2 of EAT Club’s health kickoff! If you made resolutions for this year, you’re not the only one: our team has its own resolution to make it easier for our health-conscious customers to meet their goals. That’s where I come in.
I’m Shira, EAT Club’s in-house dietitian. I’m an M.S., R.D., aka a Registered Dietitian with a Master’s degree in Nutrition. Go acronyms! A foodie at heart, I’ve worked as a chef in fine-dining restaurants in San Francisco and spent time on small organic farms learning where our food comes from. Now I’m working on ways EAT Club can help meet the health needs of our members. Here’s what I’ve been developing:
- Healthy pick of the day. After analyzing our portfolio, I’m hand-selecting a dish or two with a balanced nutrition profile to highlight as my “Healthy Pick of the Day.” Look for my stamp of approval on the menu to guide you to the healthier options.
- Dietitian’s mailbag. Submit your health and nutrition questions to me, and once per week, one of your questions will be featured on the EAT Club blog along with my response. I’m all about healthy dialogue and can’t wait to hear from you.
- Healthier items + health-related tools. In addition to working with the food team to get healthier dishes the daily menu, I’m also working closely with our product team on tools to make healthier dishes easy to identify and track. Stay tuned…
Since health is always a work in progress, I hope you’ll join me in making healthy eating a breeze at EAT Club. Send your tips, questions, and suggestions my way.
Wishing you a healthy new year,
Shira Katz, M.S., R.D.
